PETALING JAYA: Aston Martin has opened its first showroom in Malaysia, offering four models for sale.

Over RM8mil has been invested in the 480 sq metre showroom, located at Jalan 219 here. It has full service capability and will house Aston Martin's growing sports car line-up.

The models on sale now are the DBS, Rapide, V12 Vantage and V8 Vantage. The Vanquish will be available by March next year.

Prices of the cars currently on sale ranged from RM1.2mil to RM2.2mil. Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur targets to sell at least 10 cars a year, with two units already sold.

"With the opening of this showroom, Aston Martin owners can now purchase and service their cars right here in Malaysia," said Jelita Seleksi Sdn Bhd executive director Nazrul Mohtar.

" ... Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur has received very good response this year especially with the recent release of the Vanquish."

It will also service grey-import Aston Martin, said Nazrul.

Jelita Seleksi is the official importer and dealer for Aston Martin cars in Malaysia.

It is a joint venture company set up by Berjaya Corporation Bhd and Singapore-based Aston Martin Lagonda (SEA) Pte Ltd. Aston Martin Lagonda has a 30% stake in Jelita Seleksi.

"Aston Martin continues to focus on the future with the ongoing development of our retail network and the introduction of new products," said Aston Martin UK global sales director Andy Gawthorpe when launching the showroom today.

Cars sold are covered under a 3-year unlimited mileage factory warranty and maintenace programme.

The company’s roots can be traced back to 1913 and founders Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford.

Around 85% of all Aston Martins ever produced are still on the road and the company has built around 57,000 cars in its history.

It  will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year with its most complete car line-up and dealership network.

Future plans include expansion whilst seeking continued growth in emerging markets including  the Middle East and Asia, with the Malaysian outlet as the latest.
