Crippled: Robbers on bikes

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested five "Fendi Motorbike" gang members believed involved in 10 hit-cum-robbery cases and seized RM50,000 valuables in raids in Cheras and Ampang over the last two days.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said the men including the gang leader, known as Fendi, were arrested in several raids after a lawyer was robbed at Taman Danau Desa, here on June 30.

"The gang members will crash into the victim's car with a motorcycle and the victim would approach the suspect for discussion before other robbers shown up to rob the victims," he told reporters here on Friday.

He said police had also arrested a middleman who was responsible for selling the stolen loot.

Police also seized a parang, a motorcycle, 12 handphones, a digital camera, nine watches, five packets of ganja and other valuables.

The five have been remanded until July 25.
