Harrods puts Veloster in spotlight

LONDON: Shoppers at the world-famous Harrods department store in Knightsbridge here are used to seeing high quality and stylish goods on show.

From now until Aug 25, there will be another item in stock – the 1+2 door Hyundai Veloster sports coupe.

With all eyes on London at the moment, Harrods has partnered with one of the most advanced technology markets, South Korea, to create a showcase of innovative technology.

The store invited the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra) to provide a number of technology companies to form the: ‘Korea Loves London – Innovation and Technology 2012’ exhibition.

Amongst others pieces of technology, the window display includes the Hyundai Veloster, robots, interactive screens and automated home appliances.

The result is an engaging display for the 1.2 million store visitors and 9 million Brompton Road pedestrians and traffic.

Kotra's goal is to establish Korean companies in Britain, and views Harrods as the lynchpin to European success.

As the world’s fifth largest and fastest growing automotive manufacturer, Hyundai is one of the main sponsors of the promotion.

The Veloster adopts a 1+2 door configuration for easy rear seat access, and efficiency - with a combined fuel economy of up to 20km/l.

Starting from just £18,000 (RM88,000), it also offers premium levels of technology and connectivity as standard, including a 7-inch TFT touch screen media centre (with capability of playing games through consoles and films from smartphones) and Bluetooth® connectivity with voice recognition.
