Smooth traffic on expressway

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flow on the North-South Expressway (NSE) was smooth this afternoon despite heavier traffic and occurrence of accidents.

According to PLUS' Twitter updates, several routes were reported to be slow moving due to accidents, at Tapah towards Gopeng, and from Taiping to Bandar Baharu, which returned to normal after the vehicles involved had been removed.

From 2pm this afternoon, heavier traffic was reported from Tapah to Gopeng and Sungai Bakap to Bukit Tambun even though traffic flow was smooth and under control.

PLUS also said traffic heading south to all locations was smooth, from Sungai Besi in Kuala Lumpur towards Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Pagoh, Machap, Kulaijaya and Skudai in Johor.

Meanwhile, the Malaysia Highway Authority's (MHA) Twitter update reported that traffic at the toll plazas in Gombak, Karak and Jabor was heavy but under control.

In this regard, PLUS and MHA advised road users to plan their journeys to reduce accident risks and traffic congestion. - Bernama
