SHAH ALAM: Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) has officially launched its inaugural three-month programme that will involve 10 automotive colleges and universities nationwide to help nurture and develop the talent pool of Malaysia’s automobile industry through PDB’s “Best Performing Engine Challenge” and “Tech Talk”.
The Youth Activation Campaign initiative is also collaborating with Cycle and Carriage Bintang Bhd – the largest dealer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Malaysia.
PDB’s Lubricants Business Division general manager Mohd Shobri A. Bakar said the programme would be a good platform to encourage and nurture the potential talent of automotive students across Malaysia.
The “Best Performing Engine Challenge” will involve 10 teams from the participating automotive colleges and universities who will be provided with a supply of Petronas Syntium lubricants by PDB as they modify and enhance the efficiency and performance of an automobile engine.
The participant’s knowledge, presentation and communication skills will be put to the test by judges from Petronas and Cycle & Carriage. PDB will also be conducting educational workshops – “Tech Talks” – in all ten participating colleges and universities.
