Honda Freed S unveiled

PETALING JAYA: Honda  Malaysia  Sdn  Bhd  today  introduced  the entry-level Freed S.

Unlike the RM113,493.50 Freed E, the RM99,800 Freed S doesn't come with a tailgate spoiler, turning light on side mirror, variable intermittent wiper and DVD player.

The sliding door is also manually opened unlike the E grade which can be electrically opened at the push of a button on the key fob or on the dashboard.

The Freed E was launched locally in 2010.

Other than that, much of the MPV remains the same as the higher-end variant.

The  walk-through  cabin  features  a dual layer dashboard and four  captain  seats  in  the first  two  rows  with  a  200mm-wide  aisle  to  ease  access.  This  also  increases  visibility  for  all passengers in the first two rows.

The seating of this affordable  MPV is flexible and can be configured to accommodate up to seven  passengers  comfortably  or  create  a  more  spacious  cargo  area  depending  on requirements.

The  third  row  seats  of  the  Freed  S  are  foldable  for  extra loading  space.

The  Freed  S  boasts  innovative  storage  space  and  holders  such  as  the  illuminated centre tray, large door pockets, backrest hook and front seat back pockets.

Each of the seven passengers gets his or her own cup holder.

The new Freed S comes with a 5-speed auto transmission, drive-by-wire for smoother ride, a 1.5L  i-VTEC  engine  that  produces  118PS/6,600  rpm,  which  can  reach the maximum torque of 146Nm/4,800 rpm.

Safety gear includes two airbags, Anti-lock  Braking  System +  Electronic Brakeforce Distribution  and Brake  Assist.

When the fuel lid is opened, the  fuel  lid  auto  lock safety system prevents the manual sliding door from opening fully.

The MPV, a fully imported model from Indonesia, is  available  in  Brilliant  White  Pearl,  Polished  Metal  Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.

For viewing and test-drives, go to any  authorised  Honda  dealers nationwide.
