“Today’s launch is a milestone for both Nasim and Peugeot in Malaysia as it marks our entry into the diesel segment.
“Diesel technology offers consumers an exciting proposition of more torque but lower fuel consumption,” said Nasim chief operating officer Datuk Samson Anand George.
He said the diesel market was still relatively small in Malaysia in comparison to Europe, but is growing in popularity due to the high characteristic high torque and lower fuel consumption offered.
"Diesel-powered cars offer great fuel economy without compromising on performance," he said.
Samson also said the wagon market had been relatively small in Malaysia but Nasim aims to grow it with the 508 SW.
“The 508 SW offers comfort, elegance and quality with emotion at the heart of it,” said Samson.
He also said the 508 Turbo S includes a specification list that is far superior than most of its competitors.
“Moreover, with the 508 Turbo S, we can now offer this award-winning sedan to a wider spectrum of the market,” said Samson.
All five variants of the 508 are locally assembled.
