It is available in three variants -  the top-of-the-line 2.5V, followed by the 2.0G, and the 2.0E.

The 2.5V comes with a new 2.5-litre engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.0G and the 2.0E are equipped with a 2.0-litre engine and a four-speed sequential shift automatic transmission.

Locally assembled at UMW Toyota Motor’s Shah Alam factory, the new Camry is more spacious, gets a string of better features such as high intensity discharge headlights. LED tail lights and electric power steering.

Fuel economy is also said to be better compared with the previous generation model.

“To date, we have sold more than 96,000 units of Camry in Malaysia, thus cementing its position as the most preferred choice of vehicle. It has become the best-selling model in the medium passenger car segment in Malaysia since 2006 with a market share of 47%,” said UMW Toyota Motor president Ismet Suki.

Prices for the new Camry are RM149,900 for the 2.0E variant, RM157,900 for the 2.0G and RM180,900 for the 2.5V. Available colours are the signature White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Medium Silver Metallic and the new shade of Attitude Black.

Meanwhile, the 86 is a “fun-to-drive” 2+2 car with a low slung appearance that traces its roots back to past Toyota sports cars such as the AE86, Sports 800 and 2000GT.
