SEPANG: Two of Nissan’s favourite models in Malaysia - the Sylphy sedan and the Livina X-Gear crossover - have been given the Tuned by Impul treatment for a higher level of performance and sportier looks.
Unveiled in conjunction with the 2012 Autobacs Super GT Series (Round 3) at the Sepang International Circuit today, the Tuned by Impul accessories such as aerokits, sports muffler, lowered sports suspension system and 17-inch alloy wheels can be bought separately by owners who want to upgrade their existing X-Gear or Sylphy.
“We are very excited to be able to offer enthusiasts these sportier variants of our popular Livina X-Gear and Sylphy which have been specially tuned and developed by our business partner, Impul of Japan.
“These variants are intended to cater to those who aim to drive something sportier and more exclusive,” said Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd executive director Dr Ang Bon Beng.
Dr Ang added that since being introduced in Malaysia four years ago, the Tuned by Impul variants have been popular and have accounted for about 10% of the sales of each respective model.
“Customers can be assured that the accessories are of the highest quality and professionally installed by trained personnel,” Dr Ang said at the launch of the sporty variants which was also attended by Hoshino Impul Co Ltd president Kazuyoshi Hoshino.
The components also come with a three-year/100,000km warranty.

Impul Blast 2 Exhaust Muffler - a high-quality stainless steel exhaust muffler with a polished finish and Impul logo etched on the tailpipe enhances the back appearance of the Sylphy. (RM1,800)
Impul Aura SX-10 Alloy Wheels – These 17-inch wheels are finished in black with a shiny polished surface that adds a premium look to the Sylphy. Using Impul’s new Super Cast process, the wheels can be up to 30% lighter in comparison to the conventional process. Reduced weight means that the vehicle’s performance and fuel economy can be enhanced. (RM4,600 for a set of four units)
Impul Sports Suspension System – Besides lowering the car by 25mm, the system which consists of absorbers and springs, also promises better ride comfort, safety and cornering agility. (RM2,600)
Impul Complete Aerokit – The six-piece aerokit gives the Sylphy a more sporty appearance and comes with a set of front grille, front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirts and Impul’s trademark wing spoiler on the bootlid. (RM4,400)
