A life-size BMW X1, in Lego
Posted by: Anthony Lim

Right, it's a BMW X1, and it's built from Lego bricks. Yes, those colourful bricks that started their triumphant advance 50 years ago and which have since become a staple in children’s rooms all over the world has become the basis of yet another interesting creation at the BMW Welt in Munich.

Big, for sure.

In four days, from Nov 6-9, 800 children assembled a true-to-scale model of the X1 from 165,000 Lego bricks. The "car" will remain on display at the Welt until Nov 25.

And very bright.

Besides the fun and joy for the youngsters, there was another plus to be had - for each Lego brick mounted, BMW Welt will donate an amount of money to the children’s charity organisation Die Arche in Munich. The total of several thousand Euros will be used to support children from underprivileged families.
